Every body feel happy atleast in print media when Govt comes out for various scheme distributing free money to poor.It is a simple mathamatics that if poor people ( who need govt free money) if not stopped forcefully to adopt family planning ,will not reduce poverty. Growth will suffer ,inflation will increase and poor will suffer further. For example if 60,000/00 crores waived as loan to farmers had been utilise to put power plant of 10000 MW ( rate is 6 crores per MW) Power could have been supplied for less then 50 paise to all villages. Which option is better ,waiving loans or creating infra. But vote bank politics ,corrupt media are all will ensure that INDIA remains poor for ever. world will appreciate our pro poor policies

See the smiling faces in the photos of the two Montek and Jairam as if they have achieved something great for India where as the subject was how to help the poor in surviving from hunger. Do you think anything good will come out of such leaders?
Also read 8 Billion Dollar KG Basin scam details in The Hindu today as clarified by the MP Tapan Sen and reproted by Sujay Mehdudia. This was under the leadership of PM. Can some one tell us how many scams in total under this regime?

This-idiot-Montek comes out with his own definition called "rock-bottom level of existence," this guy should look at the true meaning of "rock-bottom level of human existence," and what he means when 46% of rural people are just about living to exist after 64 years of independence and 28% urbanites making ends meet while trillions of dollars allowed to fly away to overseas banks at the rate of billions per month being allowed month after month after month.
these statisitcs only shows that more than half of Indians are just about able to exist and those who are unable to provide a proper shed over their head, health to their flesh and education to their kids - the number could be staggering, could be huge & even more than 80% indians as poor almost 1 billion of poor indians! Folks is this acceptable at all?

Rs.32 cutoff figure is utter nonsense and raises questions on honesty and ability of Montek Ahluwalia and the P.M. Gharibi hatao seems to have been put on the back burner and this will strengthen Naxalite activities and thus weaken India as an emerging super power.. India's free enterprise is bordering on laisse faire and spells a potential threat to sustained growth of the economy.The country needs much strengthened effort to recover and put to use the hidden wealth in our black money assets worldwise.

Your story is nice to read except the last line where , in my opinion, it should be added/deleted : "...wrong job, wrong vision, wrong country (to be deleted as they are fortunate to be born in India and get away with all wrong acts) and wrong acts ". Nobody has stopped them to resign long back, as Dr Gadgil did as a mark of his self-respect. They are sticking to their their jobs hook or by crook against national interest, just because of their greed for power or bound by some false sense of obligations for a particular person or for a particular party. The nation can not forgive them . On another note, MMS was brought to political limelight by Narashima Rao, but unfortunately he never stood by Rao at the time of his distress although he was the colleague of Rao for all the alleged misdeeds. He just shifted his loyalty and now busy in cover-up operation for his boss and colleagues clearly against the interest of the nation. So from human aspect also, there is nothing respectful.

It is not 1200 crores, but Government
tries to feed 30% of 120 crores. That is 37 crores. If a small family has
four members each, the it works out to nearly 1 crore families
that government has to look after giving them food , home, fuel,
education, health care and job. If there is only one earning
member in such a family and his earning is limited to Rs.128/-
per day, the living standard of that family works out to Rs.32/-per person per
day There may be some truth in it . But as per my experience .a labour demands
Rs.200/- to 250/- wages per day and even it is hard to get one. and also there
are two or three members who are working in some of the families.
But if you stick on to Rs.128/- wage as a national average figure
for one person for one family, then the planning commission will have the
responsibility to recommend the minimum rate of official daily
wages to higher level. Then the estimate cost of all development plan raises
and may cause further inflation. /bsc

Poverty lines are drawn to keep every underpriviledged poor by provideng them with fish rather than with fising nets or teaching them the art of fishing, Poor are poor because they are ignorant and provided fish which hardly reach them instead of fishing net. India gets infinite free solar energy about 5 kWh of Rs 33 at Rs 6.50 per kWh per square meter per day capable of giving Rs 100 per day earnings as energy gdp ratio being 1 : 3 and infinite free rain water about one crore liters per hectare per year . Open spaces and roof in our living spaces provide us infinite space to grow vegetables free of cost as 100 vegetable twines can give enough food to a poor. When energy, water and food available right at consumption point we are ourselves responsible for any poverty and inflation which are aided by governments by providing careless, mismanaged, populist, corruption promoting and poverty perpetuating food, water and energy subsidy. Come on common man specially BPL people kill poverty in a day by using free energy, free water , free food, free time, free air waves and many other free things available.

To shameless greedy high caste Indian middle class from urban area.

The middle class Indians think they are poor because they can not buy almonds, pista, kaju or sweets from market. And that they can not eat poori or jalebi more often as they could.

So they go out and rant against Rs 32 daily consumption. The revised number if it comes would still be 20-30% higher at around Rs 40-45 limit. And planning it is not the job of government to provide for jalebi or kaju barfi to greedy Indian middle class.

The basic necessity of wheat, rice, pulses and onions, the so called staple diet is the responsibility of government. And no that does not mean basmati rice either.

Middle class crib that they can not run family of 4 or 5 in cities. Government of India is running family of 1200 crore people. And is doing a fantastic job at that.

So middle class and trading class should stop cribbing, and not steal from India by not paying taxes. First learn how to contribute for government services, before you can raise accusations.

To get the right amount for BPL card all the so called learned planning comm members should be alowed to live in a locality like Yamuna Pushta for one month and see how much they spent on their survival. Supreme court should give this direction on affidavit
