We should not forget that many of our countrymen have made big only after going to the US - be it Nobel Laureate Scientist Hargobind Khurana or Bobby Jindal or Kalpana Chawla or Sant Chhatwal or......(the list is endless).

If Mr.Gupta is innocent he'd be out of the case for sure, till then we should not comment as that would mean undermining the lawful process in a matured and developed democracy and let the law take it's own course and respect the decision of the court - the way we do it here in our country. Before commenting, we should also not forget that the Human Rights are respected more in the US than in most other countries.

Further, we should endeavor towards building strong partnership with the World's Superpower in the long run. Things are cyclical in nature but they're not going to remain as it is and the US-Economy is strong enough to come out of this soon. The Indian economy has also seen such phases, not too distant in the past, which is but a market-driven economic phenomenon, so let's not talk irresponsibly against anyone or any country. Think about it.

Why is he defending Rajat Gupta? Let me quote the Wall Street Journal article.

    OCTOBER 28, 2011

Insider-Trading Arrest Hits Home in India

Accused Executive Was a Boardroom Trailblazer and Helped Found One of the Country's Top Business Schools

By SHEFALI ANAND in New Delhi and MEGHA BAHREE in Mumbai

FAVORITE SON: Rajat Gupta, left, received a lifetime achievement award from then-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, right, in 2003.

So Mr. Gupta's indictment Wednesday was greeted with a mix of surprise, sadness and even some anger in India's tightly knit business community. It also prompted some concern that his arrest might reflect poorly on Indian executives in general, though Mr. Gupta, the former chief executive of consulting firm McKinsey & Co., has lived for many decades in the U.S.

"There's a sense of shock because everybody had looked up to him," said Aparna Sharma, president of Noam Management Consulting Pvt., a consulting firm in Gurgaon, near New Delhi.

Federal prosecutors in New York have accused Mr. Gupta of passing non-public information to hedge-fund titan Raj Rajaratnam, information allegedly gleaned from Mr. Gupta's role as a director at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Procter & Gamble Co.

WSJ legal reporter Ashby Jones stops by Mean Street to discuss former Goldman Sachs director Rajat Gupta's indictment on charges of leaking inside information.

Mr. Rajaratnam, founder of the Galleon Group hedge fund, used the information for his financial benefit. Mr. Rajaratnam was recently sentenced to 11 years in prison for insider trading.

Mr. Gupta, 62 years old, has maintained he is not guilty and has been released on bail.

US getting ready made Indian billionaire
look how fast Forbes list topping with Indian names improving their economy of
their adopted country instead of their birth. Encouraging such influx can pump
much money under the auspicious intervention of our honorable politicians stocking
money outside. The charges would only make other aspirants go elsewhere with
their money bags. Our poverty line by Montek is rock bottom our billionaires
listing fast improving; take the billionaires now. In the eventful likelihood of
passing Jan Lokpal bill in near future chances billionaires coming out from
India would be very low.

Re: http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/Americas/Rajat-Gupta-pleads-not-guilty-released-on-bail/Article1-761701.aspx

If you possess any information regarding others indulging in inside trading, you can hand it to the investigating officers who would treat the information as secret. You need not have to worry about any adverse impact. On the contrary, if the information leads to prosecuting the criminals, you may earn a percentage of the amount so found out to be illegally trades. Even if your hint is not a correct information, you need not have to worry about any reprisals from the authority. US system guarantees against such reprisals.

I am sure this initiative would bail the entire US economy out of wreakage. This kind of crime is rampantly practiced by the sons of soil all across US, and no one bothers to talk about it. In the present case, lots of those hidden sons of soil criminals will be surfaced, who quickly made money and went underground.

Re: http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/Americas/Rajat-Gupta-pleads-not-guilty-released-on-bail/Article1-761701.aspx

So he finally will endup stri-p searched, using public restrooms with no doors and also being cell mate to some ga-y fat as-sed punk as his bi-t-c-h.

Similarlary India is best place for criminals to stay provided criminals are above average. Rajat must be repenting. In India inside trading is vary common but not one person is jailed. Our great SEBI imposes only penalty. Had he shifted base to India ,he must now be enjoying his illgotten money. Every body knows that only intelligent and competent person make good in white coller frauds. His case is eye opner for other persons who have made rich , to shift to India to enjoy their money.

Re: http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/Americas/Rajat-Gupta-pleads-not-guilty-released-on-bail/Article1-761701.aspx

it was greeed that got Gaddafi killed.. u r just a gupta ..
